Cookie Policy

ABOUT THIS POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains how Discentra Ltd ('Company', 'we', 'us', or 'our') uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at https://discentra.ai (the 'Site'). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners.
Cookies set by the website owner are called 'first-party cookies'. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called 'third-party cookies'. Third-party cookies enable features or functionality provided by external services (such as analytics or embedded content).
WHAT TECHNOLOGIES DO WE USE?
We use the following technologies on our Site:
1. Local Storage
Local storage is similar to cookies but allows websites to store larger amounts of data locally on your device. We use local storage for the following purpose:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| discentra-theme | Stores your light/dark mode preference so the Site remembers your display setting between visits | Strictly Necessary | Persistent (until cleared) |
This is a strictly necessary functional preference and does not collect any personal data. It stores only the value 'light' or 'dark'.
2. Third-Party Embeds
Our Get in Touch page includes an embedded calendar from Cal.com to allow you to book a discovery call. When this calendar loads, Cal.com may set its own cookies in accordance with its privacy policy. These cookies are set by Cal.com, not by us, and are necessary for the booking functionality to work. You can review Cal.com's privacy policy at https://cal.com/privacy.
3. Analytics
We use PostHog for website analytics to understand how visitors use our Site. PostHog is a privacy-focused analytics platform. PostHog may use cookies or similar technologies to:
- Count visitors and page views
- Understand which pages are most popular
- Track how visitors navigate through the Site
- Measure the effectiveness of our content
PostHog data is processed in the EU (eu.i.posthog.com). PostHog does not sell or share your data with third parties. You can review PostHog's privacy policy at https://posthog.com/privacy.
4. Form Services
Our contact form, churn calculator, and churn report download form are connected to HubSpot CRM to process enquiries and capture leads. When you submit your email address and company name through any of these forms, the data is sent to HubSpot for storage and processing. HubSpot may set cookies for form functionality. You can review HubSpot's privacy policy at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.
5. Marketing & Conversion Tracking
We use Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta") to measure the effectiveness of our paid advertising on Facebook and Instagram. This processing is restricted to visitors located in the United States only. If you are visiting from the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, or anywhere else outside the United States, our edge network blocks the Meta Pixel and Conversions API at the network layer before any Meta-related script loads, and no data is sent to Meta.
For United States visitors, two complementary technologies record advertising-attribution events:
- Meta Pixel. A small JavaScript snippet that fires in your browser when you visit certain pages on discentra.ai. It records page views, content views, form submissions, and call bookings.
- Meta Conversions API. A server-side path that sends the same events from our own infrastructure to Meta. Before transmission, any email address or phone number you submit through our forms is hashed using SHA-256 so that the raw values never leave our systems.
The data we send to Meta is limited to: hashed email (SHA-256), hashed phone number (SHA-256), IP address (Meta sees this as standard Pixel telemetry. We do not store it), user agent, page URL, and event metadata (event name, event ID, timestamp). We never send trader data: trader data is held in our separate client platform under contract with our institutional clients, and is never connected to Meta.
Meta is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework applies for transfers originating from the United Kingdom (in scope only if our test geographies are extended in future). Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement are available as additional safeguards. Meta retains conversion-event data for 180 days for advertising-attribution windows and up to 24 months for event-match data used in Custom Audience matching. We retain no separate copy of this data.
You can opt out in several ways:
- Reject non-essential cookies via the consent banner shown on our marketing pages.
- Use Meta's Off-Facebook activity controls to disconnect activity tracked on third-party sites from your Meta profile.
- Manage your advertising preferences in Meta's ad preferences.
- Enable the 'Do Not Track' signal in your browser. Our edge middleware honours this signal and will block the Pixel for your session.
Our lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interest (UK GDPR and EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have a legitimate interest in measuring the effectiveness of our paid advertising. You can review Meta's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
COOKIES WE CURRENTLY SET
Our Site uses local storage for your theme preference as described above. Third-party services (PostHog, HubSpot, and Meta, for United States visitors only) may set their own cookies when you interact with analytics, submit a form, or arrive from a paid-advertising click. PostHog and HubSpot cookies are functional and analytical. Meta cookies are advertising and conversion-tracking cookies, restricted to United States visitors as described in section 5 above.
HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES
You can control and manage cookies in the following ways:
Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these in the 'Options' or 'Preferences' menu of your browser. The following links may help:
Local Storage
You can clear local storage through your browser's developer tools or by clearing your browsing data. Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference to the default.
Consent Banner
A cookie consent banner is shown on our marketing pages and offers reject and customise options. The banner is intentionally suppressed on the United-States-only churn-audit quiz at /churn-audit during the current advertising test (May to June 2026). It will be re-enabled when the quiz is extended to European Union visitors.
DO NOT TRACK
Some browsers include a 'Do Not Track' (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Our edge middleware honours DNT signals for advertising-related processing. If your browser sends a DNT signal, the Meta Pixel and Conversions API will not fire for your session. PostHog analytics also respect DNT signals where supported by the visitor's browser.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised 'Last updated' date.
